Adobe Photoshop for Fashion Design

It starts out by talking about CS4, into the book a bit, are a some references to Illustrator. There are many hand drawn photographs of free style models and then insertion of textures on how they use different fabrics into the photograph. There are some photos of people like cut outs from magazines, some discussions on Photoshop tools that you would read in any other book wrote about the subject, there is a cd in the back.
My thoughts are. IF you want to use this as a class study of fashion design using Photoshop, sure. I'd even say you might want to be an Advanced user of Photoshop to use the book. If you're looking for a quick run down on how to use this book for fashion design, you'll be disappointed if you don't understand Photoshop or Illustrator.
I don't regret buying the book, it adds to what I already own. It is what it says. Adobe Photoshop for Fashion Design.

Sufficient, but updated version is needed

This textbook is sufficient for learning the fundamentals of using Adobe Photoshop; however, a new edition is probably needed with each new updated version of the program in order for the guided instructions in the textbook to align with the way that Photoshop is set up and used. Oftentimes, the instructions in the textbook were for older versions of Photoshop.

This book is a tad pricey but well worth it, if you're seriously interested in learning about Small Engines, he starts off at A and goes completely to Z. Evening describing a great deal if not all the tools needed, in detail. If you're an expert in the field you may or may not find much help, but if you're a beginner or intermediate skill level this is "The Book"

About the Author
Leonard Leslie Brooke was born on September 24, 1862 in Birkenhead, England. He became a leading illustrator and author of children’s books with watercolors and pen-and-ink line drawings after illustrating a nursery rhyme book for author Andrew Lang. Brooke married Sybil Diana Brooke and they had two sons, one of whom became British Home Secretary. Leonard passed away in 1940, leaving a lasting legacy as one of the most skillful and prolific illustrators and authors, of more than two dozen books.

A cute version of the famous fairy tale with just minor variations

Brooke's (1862-1940) story of the pigs is essentially the same as the well-known version except that after the wolf fails to blow down the third pig's brick house, he tries four different ways to get to the pig so that he can eat him. This version tells how the third pig evades the wolf's four attempts, the last being the well-known part of the tale. The story is well written and there is humor in the way Brooke tells the tale.

One of the older versions of the story.

L. Leslie Brooke was a British illustrator, not an author. As usual, there are no illustrations in the free Kindle edition of this story. However, the illustrations were easy to find on the web. The author of this little volume is listed as unknown by those who converted it to digital. The story is the same or very similar to the circa 1886 version by James Halliwell-Phillipps. In this older version of the tale there is not a happy ending for all, just for the third little pig. My 7 year old (and my wife who was listening) liked the story better than the sanitized versions. My 7 year old says, "It was kind of creepy the way the wolf ate the first two pigs. It was different the way the third pig ate the wolf instead of the way it is in the other one." This review is from the free Kindle edition published May 12, 2012.

The story is nice but slightly more cruel than the one I remember of when I was a little dude ..... The 1 pig run to the second one, and then the 2 pigs the last pig with the stronger house :-) Not sure which one is the right one, still pretty nice book, my 2 boys loved it.

Was hoping for more information on the element of emotions

Found Dr. Libby Weaver through the 2016 Hay House Summit and listened to her podcast on this book, "Accidentally Overweight." I was intrigued -- interested in how our emotions create excess weight. Most of the book's elements center around the liver, diet, effects of stress, and hormones, with the last element being emotions. I was really hoping for more information on how emotions effect weight, but didn't really find the answer here. I turned to YouTube and watched a video by Teal Swan on why we are overweight, and that was more helpful.

That being said, Dr. Weaver is very good at explaining how the body works and is effected by what we put in our mouths and how we live our lives. This book will help 'most'. I also recommend (for diet) reading "Diet Evolution" by Dr. Steven R. Gundry. I have followed his plan for 5 years and my bloodwork is great; but, there's more to weight than just diet and exercise: specifically [for me] why I have a "need" for fat. Slowly, I'm finding the answers. Dr. Weaver was a fair start.

I thought this was a great book! Having read quite a few "self-help" type books particularly on weight loss, this one is by far the best. It is intelligent, useful, kind, helpful, and interesting. I actually wish I'd read it way before my mid 50s. It would have been quite helpful in my PMS years. LOVED it!!

Overlooked gold mine

I used extensively a previous edition of this book for step 1 USMLE and found it shockingly helpful. Undoubtedly, the title and 1000 some odd pages have turned away many who scan over it superficially but for those who invest time and mine out the treasures stored in this book they will not be disappointed. It is hard to express adequately how the unassuming exterior and title of this book (let alone its age) hides the concise, relevant, and integrated coverage of almost the entire basic field of medicine. It ties together wonderfully clinical medicine and the basic sciences in a way that I have yet to see done as skillfully by even well recognized texts in internal medicine. At times you almost forget that it is a text on pathology its coverage is so good. I also used first aid, BRS, and the high yield material which is excellent but this book is in a league of its own. There is no magic bullet when preparing for the boards but this is the closest text there is to it and if I could pick only one text it would be this one HANDS DOWN!!!

Amazing pathology text

This text is to the point going through all the essentials in a highly organized manner. Though it says "concise" this is not a review or a slimmed down version of a larger textbook - bear in mind that it weighs in at over 1,000 pages. But it's still compact enough to bring along on the bus or subway - something you would never do with Robbin's or Rubins. It's a shame that the latest ed is from '98 - if that wasn't the case I'd have no problem relying solely on this for pathology class. Now I back-up with Basic Robbin's. I have no idea why Lange stopped updating this marvelous book; it's one of the best educational texts I've yet to come across. Oh, and the illustrations are fantastic: simplistic, yes, but they deliver a crystal clear message. Paired with the captions it makes for an excellent quick review just skimming them. I'll keep this one forever.

At our medical school Robbins basic pathology is the recommended text and I was very skeptical before starting this book. But believe me this book is really nice and I excelled in my pathology class reading this text only. No robbins for me. This book is what it says- Concise, but also what it does not say- Relevant, succint and crammable.

I say so because I have read this book cover to cover and revised it in 3 days prior to exam. Everything is sorted out.
