Not quite there

I was offered a copy of this book in exchange for a review. I didn't mind this book but I found it lacking in nearly every aspect. The "Prince" didn't get introduced into the book until past the 60% mark which I found a bit ridiculous considering that this is a sci-fi romance (or so I thought from the title and synopsis) and then he kidnapped Nina and she put up a very small opposition to this and then seemed quite happy to stay with him after knowing him for all of 5 seconds even after running away. I found the book was actually about Nina running away from her awful father but even that could have been explored further - for me this was a theme that was seen in everything throughout the whole book and that was that everything needed to be explored further, the author seemed to just give the bare basics to the story so you could follow what was happening but not really understand the full story. Apart from that it does say the book is over 400 pages on goodreads and I don't know what other people are reading but it took me less than an hour to finish this book so that is definitely wrong. The writing was surprisingly good, I never expect all that much from unknown (to me) authors especially in this genre, the book seemed to be edited fairly well as I didn't pick anything up (although it's not a high priority for me unless it's terrible). If you are a fan or have read a book by the author S.E. Smith this is very similar in style to one her books and I think with some more experience and good feedback this author could become an author I would definitely read on a regular basis.

The delicate beauty and hard intensity will make you do a double take as to how epic it truly is. Don’t miss out on this wondrously delightful and thoroughly entertaining story!
Nina knows what is expected of her. She performs with perfect grace and beauty in order to avoid the pain that follows failure. Never given a choice as to what her life has become, she plans of a time when she will finally be able to spread her wings and fly. The fear and dread that has been slowly creeping into her heart was justified the night of her twenty-first birthday. Her father’s plans are even worse than her nightmares, so she flees his vicious grasp. Just as she is finding some stability and happiness in her new life, her world is once again rocked to its very core. She finds herself unwittingly mated to a handsome yet determined alien. While he has claimed a piece of her heart, she is terrified at finding herself inside another gilded cage. However, running away this time proves to shatter her very heart since what she is being offered is not what she thinks. Can her heart pull the fear from her mind in time to process that what she will give up now is everything that she could ever want, or will she find her life turning into a shadow of what it could be?
Nina is an extraordinary character. She is such a strong and beautiful woman who deserves so much more then what she has been forced to settle for. Even through her nightmare of a life she still retains her hope and her gentleness which made my heart break for her. As I watched her build a new life, I was so proud of her and happy to see her experiencing life as it is meant to be lived. When her surprise alien mate enters her life, I loved seeing her off kilter and yet not fighting what her heart wanted because he only wanted to love her and show her how much she meant to him. His love is what she need to feel safe, accepted, and learn what love really is. His family welcomed her with open arms and unconditional acceptance which is what she craved more than anything.
This was an absolutely fantastic story that I thoroughly enjoyed! Taylor Neptune is a wonderful author who knows how to flesh out every aspect of a character in order to feel an extraordinary depth and breadth that you don’t always see in stories. She has captured my heart and enthralled my senses with her amazingly passionate story. I only see great things in store for Neptune, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Starry Nights and Planetary Dreams!

I loved this book. It was kinda a cross between Cinderella and a caveman kinda thing. I don't mean that in a bad way, it was an interesting courtship, the Dancer in this story is dealt a hard life with a father I would personally like to knock out. With a little help and clandestine type timing our girl hit's the alien lotto. Before that happens she has to leave a bad situation, and as luck would have it, a rich drunk provides her a hasty exit. This read was kinda rushed, but it tugged at my heart. I can't wait to read the next one.
