This is a HUGE and generally very comprehensive book, but there is only one mention en passant of ME ("CFS") ME is a common (1M+ in US) and extremely debilitating Neuro-immune disease.

Most other books on OAE (and there are very few) tend to load their text with highly technical research material that can deter the entry level reader, not that this book avoids the essential technicalities, but it gets the level and balance about right...The text is an easy read...liberally illustrated with explanatory diagrams, graphs and large screen prints from actual OAE instruments, all in monochrome...Hall is a hugely experienced and productive educator in the auditory field and Dhar is a real enthusiast for otoacoustic emissions, actively engages in a wide range of clinical and cutting-edge research on the topic. The combination has created the first authoritative entry level text on OAEs which will meet the needs of clinicians, students and instructors. About the Author
Sumitrajit (Sumit) Dhar has studied Audiology and Hearing Science at the Mumbai University (India), Utah State University, and Purdue University. At Purdue, Sumit completed his Ph.D. in 2001 under the tutelage of Professors Glenis Long and Arnold Tubis. Between 1992 and 2000, Sumit has held several clinical positions as audiologist, audiology-supervisor, and clinic manager. His first academic appointment was at Indiana University, Bloomington.

James W. Hall III received his PhD in audiology from Baylor College of Medicine under the direction of Dr. James Jerger. Since then, he has held clinical and academic audiology positions at major university medical schools. Dr. Hall is now Clinical Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he maintains a clinical practice and is an instructor in the Doctor of Audiology on-site and distance learning programs. Dr. Hall s main research interests are auditory neurophysiology, auditory processing disorders, early identification of hearing loss in infants, and tinnitus/hyperacusis. Dr. Hall lectures internationally on these topics.

NOT a full series. Cliff Hangers.

First let me point out that this is a set of the first book of multiple series. So if you do like them you will have to purchase the rest of the series.

I only read the first one called Seeking Justice and it was not a bad plot. Was not what I would call a page turner and parts seem to jump from one situation to another without a transition. It also had lots of typos and grammer issues.

out $25.00 later the plot and ending of the five books. Authors should let readers know if their books contain cliff hangers. Not happy!!

I am very happy with this product. I especially like the opportunity Amazon provides to "look inside" a book and view the table of contents. To see inside always affects which book, of the same category, I will buy. I have only one complaint and that is when buying cheaper books from a second party (offered by Amazon), these book companies should offer a much faster delivery service. Otherwise, my experience with Amazon's used book sellers have been great! Thanks for great service.

This book is a total waste of time! It DOES NOT offer any useable material at all. As a biblical scholar and author myself it was a disappointment. It is now a paperweight i.e. useless.

When Brontorina Apatosaurus appears at the door of Madame Lucille's Dance Academy for Boys and Girls, she faces what could be sure rejection. Finally, Madame admits Brontorina, and humorous scenes show little boys and girls doing arabesques, relevés, and jetés, while enormous Brontorina gracefully crashes into the ceiling. Madame concludes that the new pupil is just too big. Brontorina turns to leave, a dinosaur-size tear falling from her eye. Then the teacher has a realization: The problem is not that you are too big. The problem is that my studio is too small, and the academy gets relocated and renamed. A quiet fusion of pathos, comedy, and passion is echoed in the painterly, softly textured, muted oil illustrations. When Brontorina's size limits her horizons, Madame Lucille changes her own assumptions (as well as her studio). Her broad-minded approach opens up a range of new possibilities. Text and illustrations work beautifully together in this witty fantasy. Though in lesser hands the plot might have seemed tired, here speech balloons alternate with narration to tell the story in a fresh, droll manner. In Cecil's arresting oil paintings, the tawny orange dinosaur stands out boldly against slate blue or white backgrounds, and the unusual texture of the paint creates a distinctive effect. Brontorina makes a hugely sympathetic heroine as pictured here, and the stylized figures of her teacher and classmates are no less appealing. Brontorina covers acceptance, rejection, being yourself, differences, and following your dreams quite beautifully. When Brontorina enters Madame Lucille's Dance Academy she is met with warmth and curiosity. But she's also met with a little bit of an attitude by two girls who just can't seem to find anything nice to say. It's like they want her to fail. They have a very minor role but I pointed out their put-downs. A kiddo said, "They are trying to stand in front of her dream!" Luckily, there are two other dancers, Clara and Jack, who want nothing more then to help her succeed. We need to lift each other up - not cut each other down. This was a well received message thanks to Brontorina. Major kudos to the author for picking a dinosaur to be a ballerina. This kept both boys and girls engaged. The last illustration got a heartwarming "AHHHHHH" from all the students. Oh, and from me too! As an elementary school counselor, it's refreshing to find books like Brontorina.

Fun story with a great lesson

I loved this story! Brontorina Apatosaurus is a dinosaur who just has to dance. After all,she has the name of a ballerina doesn't she? I loved Madame Lucille's attitude of acceptance and Brontorina's steadfast refusal to give up on her dream. I even liked the snarky girls on the sidelines that kept commenting on how she didn't have the right shoes. The illustrations are simple and adorable, giving Brontorina just the perfect amount of innocence and charm that will have every reader rooting for her. The ending, which shows just how far Madame Lucille was willing to go to make sure that Brontorina could dance, is a testament to inclusiveness. In the end, she even gets the right shoes. This is a perfect choice for preschool and kindergarten groups as a read aloud, and can be used effectively to promote discussions about acceptance. Recommended

This one will be a classic!

I came across this book while looking for other books Randy Cecil has illustrated (we loved his 'We've all got belly buttons'). This is my 21 month old's favorite book. Granted, this is for older children but my daughter enjoys being read to and loves the emotion in this book. As a parent reading the book to her (many times a day) I'm nowhere near being sick of the book; Randy Cecil's illustrations are beautiful and James Howe's text is just enough, so we hover on each page talking about what else is going on.
I hope this book will teach my daughter acceptance of people no matter their differences and the determination to hold on to her dreams. Can't recommend this book enough!

This book was such an enormous help to me while I gathered information for a study I am doing on serial killers. The way it is organized and divided into different types of killers was very useful and helped me get a good handle on what types of people commit serial crimes and their personal characteristics. Also helpful is the info on different theories people have had on serial murderers. I also liked that it was to the point and without a lot of unnecessary information. Well written, easy to read (and quick to read!) and full of very useful information, this book is not a sensationalist look at this subculture but a well-researched, well-balanced review of serial killers written by a psychologist with many many books to his name. Extremely helpful and very interesting indeed.

Thoroughly researched, straight to the point and fascinating

Even though there isn't any groundbreakingly new info in this book, it contains all of the research that has been done on serial killers and there is no other book that does that. It is full of really interesting information and I highly recommend it. I read it from cover to cover!
