Wow...Wow...Wow!!!

I read one of the books on a Prime free read and then got hooked. I love the characters and stories that Jasinda creates. Once I start it is like I am addicted and cannot put the book (Kindle) down. I want to beg and plead for more stories.

My hubby and I love reading the books together since they can add spice to a 13-year marriage and 15-year total relationship. Jasinda's stories give inspiration and make me feel like a real woman even though I don't fit the "Hollywood" verison since I am plus-sized. Jasinda's female leads seem to be real women of various sizes that are not stick thin and there are men out there that find them sexy just like my hubby sees me in that way.

You have found fans for life in us Jasinda and I cannot wait to read more :)

Totally leaving the same review for each book as all three of these could have easily been put into one Novella instead of three short stories!!!

The plot is good and I really liked the fast pace of it... but like I said before, this could have been ONE book... each of the three stories has everything I needed in a book... hot characters, steamy sex scenes, emotions, secrets, and humor!!! I'm glad I decided to read them.

Even though Shane IS an alpha male, he's got a huge heart and with the right woman (Leona), that softness and kindness come through the hard exterior of a man that is hardened by his families wealth and popularity!! I have to admit, I myself am completely and utterly in love with Shane and his uber hot brothers!!!

The writing style is effortless to read... it actually felt like I was reading my own writing... like the way I would explain something or tell a story of my own... I was whisked away by this story and transported into a world of hot sex, airplanes, war zones, hospitals, and mansions!!! Glad to be along for the ride!!

All is all, I really liked all three stories... and as I said before... COULD HAVE BEEN ONE BOOK... for that I gave this entire series 4 stars... if it was one book... I'm pretty sure it would have warranted a 5 star rating from me!!!

Powerful Stuff

While I have enjoyed Dr. Schoonmaker's books in the past, this is the most important one for me. The research is painstakingly well done, the math is explained clearly, and solutions to a lot of tough problems are presented in this book. If you are a serious player, and looking to make money, this book will definitely help. Poker is much tougher than it used to be, and Alan's advice will help you deal with that and continue to thrive.

Repetitive, but helpful

I had high hopes for this book after appreciating some of Schoonmaker's articles in the past and as someone making the transition from online to brick and mortar poker. There were good tips here, such as looking left before you act, and great concept, such as looking for telegraphs (hints about upcoming actions) rather than just looking for tells (signs of the strength of a hand). But some of the endless advice about seat selection is actually impractical to implement (are there lots of tables in your casinos in which you can walk in and plop down in seats 1-3 somewhere?). The checklists at the very end of the book were helpful although again I'm not sure I'm going to be pulling out multiple checklist cards while also writing stuff down on other cards as he recommends.
I wish that the book had much less repetition of the same principles and guidelines and messages, and had saved some space for some actual hand examples, some "how would you respond when Action Al does X" exercises; there's none of that here. Still, an important book coming at the right time, I recommend buying it whether you're adjusting to face to face "Brick and Mortar" play or adjusting to those online folks joining your face to face tables.

And that’s just a glimpse of his story. Roemer's book is one of a handful of great eyewitness accounts of the new State of Texas. He was there when Austin’s capitol was "a log building on top of a hill," when the previous capital at Washington was a shambles, when San Antonio was still licking its revolutionary wounds, when wagons and steamboats were in short supply, having been commandeered by the U.S. military for the war on Mexico. He passes up a chance to visit "a little place called Dallas on the Trinity River" in favor of venturing to a Caddo Indian village. Roemer was an educated and articulate man, and his prose is a cut above most frontier memoirs, making his writings particularly readable and informative.

Roemer's Texas

I was hoping for a book that would give me insight into what my Alsatian ancestors dealt with when they left the motherland and settled in Texas--the climate, the daily requirements of living, the Natives, and the attitudes. This is a book I will read twice. Roemer's first person narrative is an erudite memoir of his two-year travel through a state that had just been admitted into the Union. Based on a 1935 translation by Oswald Mueller, the sentences tend to be long and complex, but are rich in information. His intention to enlighten his fellow countrymen about Texas then, and even now, is well served. I found his powers of observation matched by his ability to write about them. One should read this book with a big map of Texas in hand to fully appreciate the ground he managed to cover. His geology and botany paints a picture of a country he considered a difficult but beautiful and promising land for settlers. It was not at all dry. He manages to come across as both honest and respectful in relating his experiences with those he meets on his sojourn.
